Art, also called visual art, a visual object or experience consciously created through an expression of skill or imagination. The term art encompasses diverse media such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, decorative arts, photography , and installation. A first year foundation programme common to all departments is offered to students before they commence courses in their respective departments. The Fine Art courses subsequently encourage the advancement of skills parallel to the development and processing of ideas. Though perception is always colored by experience, and is necessarily subjective, it is commonly understood that what is not somehow aesthetically satisfying cannot be art.
